The Elegance of the Hedgehog

Literature Study Group

Starts 8 Jan 2026
36 British pounds

Peace, wisdom, simplicity

Delighted to be offering this class on Muriel Barbery's wonderfully philosophical novel, The Elegance of the Hedgehog! A publishing phenomenon when it was released in 2006, the novel asks existential questions about identity, meaning, and the purpose of life, as well as exploring issues such as class, suicide, and the often unconsidered difference between appearance and reality. The Elegance of the Hedgehog is a fascinating novel full of literary, philosophical and cultural allusions, and always sparks interesting discussions in class! Be sure to book your space today! The group will meet for three sessions from Monday 8th January 2026. Classes will run from 6 to 7.30 pm (UK) but please be flexible with the finish time, as we can tend to carry on if we're in full flow! This is an in-person class, the venue being Lombard House, Upper Bridge Street, Canterbury, Kent. CT1 2NA
